Greetings from Dublin via Boston
Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself. Recently relocated to Dublin for six months, but Boston is home. I have a decent amount of Scot blood running through my veins and have always been fascinated with highland culture. That being said, as soon as I got across the proverbial pond, I flew on over to the 'homeland' and had a wonderful weekend. I knew that I was going to invest in a decent outfit to wear to charity dinners I regularly attend back in Boston. After doing a fair amount of online research (and lots of lurking on here), I poked into Hector Russell, and was measured for a traditional 8 yarder in MacDonald ancient, and all the bells and whistles for a full Prince Charlie outfit. And for good measure, I added on fishtail trews to wear as an alternative (also McD anc). It looks to be in and shipped over to Dublin on October 25. Needless to say, I can't wait for it all to arrive and throw some pictures up on here.

A warm Scottish welcome from middle England. I was talking to some friends from S. Ireland about a week ago and they were saying it is much cheaper for them to have large parcels delivered to family in England and travel over to collect them than have them sent to Ireland because of postage costs. Doubt that that will be relevant to you, I just mention it in case it is an option. Royal Mail will likely charge £80-£90 (€110), insured and signed for, for a complete outfit as you describe.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Hola from Spain. A Scot visiting here told me only trews should be worn with a Prince Charlie. Tails shouldn't be worn with a kilt.
