Greetings from Houston, TX!
Greetings all!
I am very new to the kilt, in fact, my first ever kilt arrives at some point today just in time for the Texas renaissance fair! I have been interested in obtaining one after my ex-brother in law got married in one while I was living in the UK...however my ex-wife was very against me ever wearing one "You'll look frumpy and short!" Her excuse, now that I am free I decided to finally take the plunge...pretty damn excited to wear it today.
As for my background, I am a military brat so I've lived and traveled to every "corner" of the globe. I never ended up joining the military for various reason, instead, I focused on a career as a wildland firefighter and a few other less impressive things (did video games as a lucrative living at one point.) I am currently en route to obtaining my paramedics and start getting the credentials to be a helicopter crew somewhere in the country! In my spare time, I game, play drums (played for a few bands in my time), I'm a full-time beer snob and whiskey enthusiast, and I enjoy doing absolutely nothing and spacing out haha.
I am happy to be apart of the community and to meet all of you folks!
EDIT: I have now been wearing my kilt for about 4 hours, and I can say it is without a doubt THE most comfortable clothing I've ever worn.... why didn't I just buy one years ago?!

Welcome from a Scotsman living in the English midlands. Hope your kilt arrives as planned, and that you get a lot of pleasure from wearing it!

Well met new friend. Take the time to "click onto" a members name and read their "bio" (if they have added one). You will find similarities with many of us. Glad to have you among the Rabble.

Welcome from Waco. You should try to get up to Salado next weekend for the Highland games and gathering.
If you do, stop by the Keith tent and say hi.

Welcome Norko,
Houston humidity can make for a rough go of it in a kilt. I hope you didn't go the 16 oz. 8 yard.
