Greetings from the Inland Northwest - USA
Stumbled across this site years ago, never registered, life got busy, basically forgot out it Then.... as my love of Kilts has never faded, wearing them for almost 20 years now, my wife and I happened to be celebrating our anniversary in Victoria BC, when I thought "Hey, there's a lot of Scottish going on here, let me see if there's a shop where I can pick up a proper bonnet and crest."
And yes, yes there was.
I spent the next four hours in the company of @Steve Ashton unlearning all that I thought I new, and being brought into the fold that is X Marks the Scot.
Normally start donning a kilt first Friday in May (National no Pants day) until the snow flies in the fall. It does get quite cold in these parts, and I do wear all winter long as the conditions and events merit. Used to say "First Friday in may until the snow flies" - and it flew the next day ;) This year, I've already started, weather be damn'd and Friday is first Kilt to work day. Several of the newer folks have not been warned. Bosses are very much okay with it.
Looking forward to being part of this great community!

Welcome from the other side of the Atlantic. I'm a Scotsman living in the English midlands. I wonder if the first Friday in May is International No-Pants Day! I'm doing my bit to support the cause.

Well met fellow Python fan. Regardless if the first Friday in May is internationally celebrated or not, I plan to go boldly into the public without pants (kilted will be my option). Glad to have you with us.

Thank you for the warm welcomes!
Have been spending time reading what I can, and learning a great deal. Spending time with Steve was a fantastic education in and of itself. I've tracked down a dandelion to fit into my bonnet... that will raise questions as much as wearing a kilt around town.
Co-workers didn't bat an eye wearing a kilt into work Friday, seemed normal to them. Boss was wearing shorts, and said I was overdressed The gals loved it, as always.
