Greetings from the Middle of Nowhere Missouri
Pointed in this direction by Steve Ashton after unabashedly admiring his kilts while knitting socks at the Annual Erlbacher CSM event in the lovely burg of Cape Girardeau Missouri.
An ardent sewist I am anticipating to journey of learning how to make a kilt. While of no Scott or Irish descent I somehow ended up the proud owner of a set of bagpipes with the Forbes clan tartan after my husband decided he needed them and since I was near Edinburgh why not go by and pick up a set.
Looking forward to Kilt Kamp 2017 or 2018! Or maybe 12 days in Keith?
Renee

Welcome, Renee, to XMarks from Washington. I have been doing some genealogical research lately and have found a mess (the most appropriate group noun I could find) of my relatives from Cape Girardeau and Bollinger Counties. Seabaugh, Bollinger, Crite, Yount, and Altis. My mother was born and raised in Texas Co.
Studies have shown that women who gain a few pounds live longer than men who mention it.

Well met Renee. I'm across the river in Mississippi. You may have come to us under dubious circumstances, but glad to have you with us. There is a lot to learn from the "Rabble" (even bag piping tips). Maybe you can get the "hubby" interested as well.

Welcome from a Scotsman living in the English Midlands.
Interesting to see a reference to the Forbes clan tartan - I have Forbes ancestors! (May not be obvious on the avatar, but I am wearing a Forbes tartan kilt in the picture!)
