Greetings from Minneapolis, MN
Hello all! I've been lurking here for a while now, and thought I should become part of the community. I have been kilted for about 7 years now. Still only have one kilt, but it is a handmade Scottish tank (I believe thats the terminology?) in MacCallum Ancient (My Grandmother's tartan.) It is the kilt I was married in, so the wife has placed a ban on wearing it to anything but the most formal of functions and a few family affairs (Burns Night, et al). I'll psot some pictures once I get them scanned in.
Anyway, I found this site after searching for information on contemporary kilts, as I was in the market for something to wear out with the guys and around town. After reading many, many posts and threads (including the "1 Kilt, 10 looks" thread) I have to say that I have been converted to the ways of the traditional kilt. As I don't have the funds for more than one new kilt, I am not going to bother spending my money (or time) on a contemporary kilt and instead I am looking at another traditional kilt. Actually, I have been looking at a Freedom Kilt in another family tartan, as I do like the idea of pockets (both side slash and the apron pocket) on an otherwise traditional looking kilt.
So, thanks for everything!
ps: concerning the short funds issue, if anyone ever would like to swap kilts, fabric or accessories for homebrew (beer, wine or cider), I'm your man.

from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, glad you liked the 10 look thread, best of luck finding a new kilt, perhaps you should check out ebay or Burnett's and Struth (B&S has a casual kilt sale right now).

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Tell her a kilt is for any occasion, and that's coming from another lady.
Also, welcome to the community.
