Greetings from MN
Hi all-
My name is Lee and I live in a suburb of Mpls/St. Paul, MN. I am of Mac Gillivrey descent on my mothers side but I could not tell you much more, I am not even sure of the spelling. Unfortunately, I did not get into family lineage until the ones that knew most of it passed on...ugh...Anyway, I am very excited to learn more about anything scottish here or related subjects...I am looking for a good kilt for work...construction field so it would have to somewhat durable...would the utilikilt be best? Looking for any input or/and additional info...I may add that I now supervise 20 + construction workers so I am not always working on site and spend more time in the office than I care....thanks all and have a fabulous day. Oh, one more thing, we did go on an excellent tour of Scotland a couple of years back and fell in love with the land so much we debated moving there at one point...Gorgeous place...hope to return when the heather is blooming...take care... Lee

Welcome from West Virginia!
The UK Workman's is used by some contractors. Buzz Kidder canvas is also an option. FreedomKilts make an Industrial model that is custom. There are a few other companies out there, but these probably have the best reputation. Lots of folks here don't care for UKs, though (not me- I'm a fan).

"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Welcome from Northern Colorado! I have a UK workman's that I've been wearing for over six years. Love it. Though I have no personal experience with Buzz Kidder kilts or Freedom Kilts, I've also heard good reviews of their products.

Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts.
Construction workers around here swear by the Utilikilt Workman. Before ordering please check the Kilt dos and donts thread.
This is three of us at church one Sunday:
Bruce, me, and Geo.

Please note that the gentleman on the left is wearing a UK Workman that is too short. I am wearing a UK Basic at the knee, the proper height and Geo's UK Basic is a wee bit below the knee, not proper at all.
Bruce's Workman is three years young.
Steve
