Greetings O' Kilted Ones!
B. Somm here from Surprise AZ!
I found my way here via Riverkilt a couple of years ago. I thought I had registered then, but apparently I hadn't, so I registered this morning so that I could participate in the SCA/Estrella War related threads over in the Off Topic Forum. (Turns out that I know a couple of other members here as well!)
I've always had an interest in things Scottish (men in kilts--HUBBA HUBBA!) and often wished that I had some Scots blood mixed in with all of the German & English blood that I was already aware of. Well, it turns out that I have family on my dad's side with the last name of "Burns", which up until a couple of years ago I had no idea had anything to do with any Scottish heritage. Imagine my surprise when I learned that "Burns" is related/decended from the Campbell Clan!
(And boy did I have fun informing Mr. Macdonald, aka "Riverkilt" that he's been cavorting with a Campbell all of these years after enduring a couple of Highland Games listening to him bemoan the Campbells! Such fun!!)
Anyway, I just wanted to say 'howdy'! Now if I can figure out how to get a Burns' tartan avatar, I'll be all set!
B.
