Greetings From San Francisco
Another newbie here, glad to have found this site. Just a couple of questions to start off with:
1) I've always been a bit sensitive to wool, itch-wise, but have had no problem with wool suits that are finely woven and lined. Would I have a problem with a modern wool kilt or should I plan to stick to synthetic?
2) I read something just recently about the benefits of box pleats over the more common knife pleats and how box pleating requires less material to make a decent kilt. Any comments?
Thanks very much, any and all replies are welcome.

Cead mille failte!
I prefer the look of knife pleats; box pleats just don't hang the same way....

Welcome to the forum Don. I have always preferred how the knife pleats looks, however, having said that, I must admit Lady Chrystel's double box pleated kilts looks very nice. You can see it here. http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/d...x.html?t=38152

Welcome, from Vancouver and Inverness. Sensitive to wool? Get a swatch from your favourite supplier, tape it loosely to the outside of your thigh, and wear it there for a day or three. I think you will find you don't have a problem if the swatch is pure, new wool.
