Greetings from Scotland!
Hi there – pleased to join this forum, and look forward to talking all things kilt with you all!
I’m a thirty-something Scot who has been interested in kilts ever since my teens. I am now fortunate enough to own three of my own (two heavyweight kilts in different versions of the same tartan, and a medium weight one for wearing more casually and for football, rugby etc) I wear them for for all the usual things kilts are worn in Scotland – so I’m not wearing them every day, but whenever I get the chance I do definitely take it!
I’m slowly building up a decent collection of sporrans, jackets, sgian dubhs etc as well too, but always looking to expand my collection. Basically anything kilt-related I’m interested in!
I’m looking forward to discussing everything to do with kilt-wearing with you all on here, and maybe contributing a Scottish perspective in some areas as I know we’re a bit of a rare species here

First, welcome!

Second, the Scottish perspective is always very welcome here! And something we can never get enough of.
Scots do have a major advantage over others in that pre-owned Highland Dress is far more available there than elsewhere.
You have all the ex-hire sales, and the fact that Highland Dress things sometimes are seen at charity shops.
Here in the USA not so much! I've spent over 40 years checking though thrift stores and have never found a single item of mens Highland Dress.
A piper in our band recently got a magnificent set of pipes- Robertsons mounted in ivory and reposse Celtic engraved silver- from Goodwill. Finds like that are exceedingly rare.
I'm always on the lookout for quality vintage Highland Dress items, hard to find in my size (6 foot 4 and 17 stone).
