    Greetings from the Shenandoah Valley

I have been wanting a kilt for a fair number of years, but couldn't justify the expense. I finally found a merchant who could provide what I wanted at a reasonable cost ... USA Kilts! (Thanks, Rocky! Thanks, Mac!) I discovered this forum a couple of months ago (after I ordered the kilt), but did not want to join until there was a picture to share, so ... here it is:

The tartan is the Mitchell Modern from the House of Edgar. This forum does have a thread about the Mitchell tartan, and I will submit a reply soon. Also, here is a picture of my great-great-grandfather, Andrew Mitchell:

Piipriker: I spent an hour and a half trying to get pictures into my post (I tried 4 different methods), and it looks to me like it finally worked - I can see the images in the post. If you are unable to see them, please let me know and I will contact the X Marks staff for assistance.

Tuirc: Howdy, neighbor! I heard about the Christmas Walk in Alexandria, but my father is coming on Monday and I have some cleaning to do!

Well, there's always next year! It was a grand turnout. For the native Scots on the board, your tax money was well spent (the event is partially sponsored by your government) as there were loads of Saltires both full sized flags and small flags on a stick abounding all along the route. It typically draws 30,000 and I'd say we had all of that or more this time.
