Greetings from Somerset UK
Hi all
Don't know how I never found this forum before, but glad I have now. Great to be a member.
I am a Scot from Fife, although I left when I was 20, when I joined the Army. That's where I got my forum name.
I was a Drill Instructor for a time and it stands for
(P) Pace Stick
(O) 'Ob nail Boots
(D) Dentures (as my front teeth had been knocked out when younger)
The last 3 numbers are (appropriately) my last 3 of my Army number.
Regards

Greetings POD325 of the Grant Clan and welcome to X Marks from Delaware, USA. You know, it's never too late. You found us, you joined us and now you are... us. And, I'm glad you did.
I'm sure it's a typo in your profile but, if not, you were leaving for the army at about the time my ancestors (the Frasures') came to the Highlands. Never-mind, saw your birth date so, now I'm certain it's a typo!

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. Must admit I am not of the Grant Clan. Circumstances mean I cannot trace my name (Parker) back to any particular clan. I have posted a story of my journey to the kilt on the following website. It explains why I wear the Grant.
I hope there are no restrictions on posting other site links, I can't find anything in the FAQ's. As I still have to have my posts as a newby approved, I am sure the mods will keep me right.

It is quite long, hence not putting it on here. The site is quite interesting however.

Hi and welcome from sunny Queensland.
I used to holiday a lot in Somerset with my family when I was much younger - always so wonderfully green - because it rains a lot - or it always seemed to on us!
Regards, Sav.
