Greetings From Sunny Florida
Greetings and Salutations to All,
Found your community while shopping for Christmas gifts for the family. I bought and started wearing my first kilt around this time last year, and have been enthralled ever since. I'm looking all over for a good pattern to make my own(with help, of course, from wife and daughters) that I can wear all the time. I grew up detesting clothes in general, and shoes in particular, and just went crazy when I got my kilt. Am looking forward to making my first kilt on my own, with, hopefully, many to follow. I have worked as some sort of mechanic or technician my entire adult life, but am now back in college to earn my degree as a Paralegal. After earning the degree, I hope to find work as a corporate or non-profit researcher, so that I can do most of my work from my home or liveaboard boat. This will make my daily wearing of the kilt even easier.
Looking forward to corresponding more with you all, and hope you will consider educating me in the fine arts of the wearing of this marvelous garment.
Best to all,
tonyj54

from coastal North Carolina. If you want to make your own, check out the instructions for the X-Kilt. Instructions are a sticky in the DIY section.

Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts
Check out the D.I.Y. Forum for ideas, and the X-Kilt instructions, and for the traditional kilt, get a copy of Barbara Tewksbury's The Art of Kiltmaking. Barb T is a regular poster on the D.I.Y. forum and sews up a fantastic kilt.
Enjoy ye rabble
