Greetings from West Sussex
Well, my user name gives away my location rather! I've been "lurking" on this forum for a few weeks now so I thought I might as well register and join properly.
I've been interested in trying out a kilt for a while now, but this has been brought to a head by age. For my 40th birthday, we have booked a cruise on Queen Mary 2 and I've decided to wear a kilt for the formal nights, of which there will be four. So, I thought I had better get some practise and knowledge in first.
Oh, and I do have a bit of Scottish blood lurking in my veins somewhere I'm sure!

from The Big South Fork, north central Tennessee!
A cruise is a great way to begin your kilt wearing and a QM2 cruise is perfect. Bon voyage!

Thank you. We've been on Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth on previous cruises so know what to expect. Looking forward to it. Expect lots of questions and advice however, as I may well try wearing the kilt December...

from the Scottish Borders.
Best of luck with the cruising, I'm afraid I can't share your enthusiasm, having been on two four day mini-cruises and had to put up with sea sickness and rude staff, being stuck on a ship for my precious free time would seem like being sent to jail, I'd much rather fly and get to the holiday destination quickly. However each to their own.
