Greetings from Whidbey Island, WA
Hello my name is Kyle and it is a pleasure to find a place where I may be able to get some ideas and knowledge.
I have looked around on the web a bit for a place to buy a decent quality traditional kilt and have been very discouraged as of late because all I see are kilts made overseas and they are charging outrageous prices for some of them.
That is the biggest reason i came here to see if anyone had any suggestions.
A bit about myself, I am currently stationed on NAS Whidbey Island, WA. I am married and when we have our big ceremony I would like to wear a kilt, so if anyone has any suggestions it would be truly grateful.

Hi, “Lenin”, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
My father-in-law was a naval airman: a petty officer aircraft fitter in the Fleet Air Arm, part of the Royal Navy. During the Second World War he was sent to a new base being set up near Cape Town, which is how he met his wife and eventually settled at the Cape.
Before being sent down south, he spent two years at a naval air station outside Arbroath, in Scotland.
Regards,
Mike

from Chicago. You might try Stillwater kilts. Their 'heavyweight' kilt is wool and about 8 yds and is reasonably priced. Not the same, however, as a custom-made kilt. But for $122 to $130 not a bad product.

Greeting from a Whidbey Islander currently in the middle of nowhere. I used to be an AM at AIMD Whidbey, now FRCNW. Did multiple dets in support of VAQ-129, 137, 134, 140 and 142 and VQ-2. What's your rate and command?
You came to a good source for info...and do whatever you can to stay on The Rock...the best place the Navy can put you!!!!!
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.
