halò from SE Pa (aka Philly 'burbs)

(Never been good at these intros, so please bear with me)
Hi all! After many many years of wanting to get a kilt, with my 46th birthday being days away, I decided it was time to nut up and get one. My only regret is waiting so long!
I'm half Italian (my nonni were fresh-off-the-boat from Calabria), and half mutt (Lenape', German, Irish, and who knows what else) and, as the pic shows, a member of the "Big & Tall" club (be surprised how many kilts don't offer a size 46-48). Happily married 22 years, proud poppa of 2 young men, and a former Police Officer/EMT (disabled in 2005), as well as an Army vet (89-95).

Wife is still trying to figure out why I like wearing the kilt, when she has never seen me wear a pair of shorts, EVER (I keep telling her it's different, she doesn't understand). Just purchased a second Utility-type kilt, now looking for a patterned tartan, and enjoying learning more about them and the accessories (been lurking a while now, before signing up).

TL;DR version: "Hi from Bucks County Pa!"

P.S. - Any other kilted motorcycle riders?

Welcome. I ride two-wheelers - but not while kilted. Do have a photo of me on one in one taken for a lark that hasn't seen the light of day since.
    Thanks for your service

Thanks! I had to give up 2 wheels a few years back...residual nerve damage from my '05 crash, and arthritis finally caught up with me, so I had to get a third wheel. Haven't yet tried it, but haven't ruled it out....especially since that trike is my primary vehicle (if I were still on 2 wheels, I'd be more hesitant)

Well met young member. Just because you came late doesn't mean the party has ended. Glad to have you aboard.

Yep! I commented on your thread as well...good to see another in this area with a kilt!
I have to work tomorrow, so I'm missing the Navy Yard Beerfest. I usually attend all of them in the area, either as a sampler, or (more often) volunteering as a server....can't wait for the next one so I can go in my kilt (next one I know of is Washington Xing Fall beerfest)

I have never ridden while wearing a kilt, I'm not really an All the gear all the time type of a guy but I never ride in shorts either.

Same here, been riding 30-some years, never tried shorts. But now on the trike, where the chances of laying it down are far less than on 2 wheels...it's not out of the realm of possibilities (but, I probably will never try either...)
