A Hearty Greeting from Maryland
A newbie to the forum and almost a newbie to kilts. Researching and celebrating my scottish heritage, I have found such a great respect for the kilt. My first kilt was a simple, craft store pattern, in a wool plaid (no specific tartan) that my wife made on her sewing machine. It served its purpose in a season of RennFaire weekends. And so the addiction began!!
So the logical next step (remember "addiction") was my recent purchase of a 16oz traditional Morrison Ancient Hunting made by MacGregor and MacDuff. Its like wearing a work of art!! And now the addiction continues.
Now I'm ready for that next step.. the casual kilt. Being a rather big fella, its not easy to find that kilt that not only feels right, but looks right too. Lots of great discussions and information here in the forum, and I'm excited to be a part of it.
Thanks for all the great advice!!

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Thank you for the warm welcomes. I'm hailing from Northern Carroll County amidst the moos and the cornstalks.

I lived in the far North of Howard County (just over the line from Carroll) during high school. Lots of moos there, too. I used to be able to drive the tractor into town.
