Hello
Usually when I start these, it looks like a transcript from an AA meeting...anyways...
My name's Joel. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. I, like many others, lurked about for a long while before joining.
So, a lil' bit about myself: I come from Irish and Scottish heritage (O'Dell's of Ireland -- Campbell's & Stuart's of Scotland). Ever since I was a little, I have always had a great sense of pride in my heritege.
As a profession, I'm a poet and a songwriter. I say it's easy to tell which are songs and which are poems 'cause anything I can sing, I call a song. Anything I can't sing, I call a poem. But, I consider myself a lyrical poet. The only problem I have with this profession is that I have yet to make money at it (in order to supply my kilt needs, of course). But I'll always enjoy it, even if I never make a dime at it.
Well, I hope that's a good enough introduction. I don't say much, really...I'm usually more of a listener than a talker...so...yeah. That's all, I think.
Cheers.

Welcome!
and I'm glad to hear you're an unsuccessful poet. All the poets who met with the greatest success seem to have led rather sad lives. So here's to continued lack of success (but plenty of kilts and accoutrements!)!
