Hello
good morning. my name is Andy. i bought my first kilt this past fall in Edinburgh from Geoffrey (Tailor) Highland Crafts, a Tank, Bell of the Borders tartan, and my genetic memory ignited: wearing the kilt was incredibly familiar, the sporran too. my wife said i could have saved some money by belting my tartan nightshirts, but though i considered that, the result would have been of dubious public acceptance. instead, i'm shopping for more kilts.

Welcome, Andy, from the concrete canyons of the Big Apple!
My own "tanks" are also from Geoffrey Tailor. I can't imagine even comparing a nightshirt to a true kilt, though I can imagine wearing a white one underneath it, since that's how it all started!

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Chances are your wife wouldn't want to be seen with you in a belted tartan nightshirt. The kilt was definitely the right choice!
