Hello
Hello,
I am here because I have got very interested in making my own kilt. The challenge of constructing a garment that is about engineering as much as art appeals to me. I like the more contemporary kilts like the skilt and the utilikilt, because I am very fond of garments with pockets.
I am in Yorkshire, but like many in England I have some ancestors from over the border, apparently our ancestors had a castle somewhere in Scotland, but like most, the money is at another end of the family, or gone altogether!
So hello to everyone, and I am sure I will be asking a lot of questions and doing a lot of reading on here before I embark on my own first kilt.

Welcome to the "Great Rabble!"
You'll find that The Wizard of BC has a similar approach, being both an engineer and a kiltmaker (and a few other things too!)

Well met Rainbow. I had not thought of kilts as engineered but it makes sense to me now that you mention it. Have fun in your endeavor. Welcome from Oxford, MS. USA

"Did ye hear the brave tunes ringin' as they swung the drones on high?
Did ye watch the rhythm of the kilt,
Did ye hear the war march die?"
