Hello From Ada, Ohio!
Hello all!
I have long been aware of the X Marks community, but have only recently gotten into buying and wearing kilts more often myself, So I thought I had better join and become a part of this great community. I now have a sport kilt in the clergy tartan, with another in the MacDonald tartan on the way. Several years ago, I bought a cheap off the rack kilt in Edinburgh, which was ok, but definitely showed it's cheapness...the colors were off, and it never quite looked like a proper kilt.
Anyway, I'm excited to start wearing my kilts more often now. I live in the small town of Ada Ohio, and I work at a local University as the chaplain. This affords me many opportunities to wear the kilt at formal events, banquets, and the like. I have also recently come to experience firsthand the freedom that comes from hiking in a kilt. I would be curious to hear of other people's experiences of hiking in a kilt as well.
In addition to hiking, in my spare time I enjoy camping, reading, and knitting. I recently started knitting sweaters, so everyone in our family has gotten a sweater over the last several months! I'm looking forward to getting some sweaters to go with my kilts, especially as the cold weather begins to set in.
There is a picture of me in my clergy kilt on my profile, and as soon as I get my new MacDonald kilt, I will post a pic as well.
I look forward to getting to know many of you in the coming days and weeks!
