just wanted to take a moment to say hello, so...hello!

I've been lurking for a while and finally decided, now that my first kilt is on its way, to go ahead and register.

I'm a scenic carpenter and aspiring writer from Chicago. I can't really say how long I've been into in kilts, though my interest has deepened significantly over the past few months. Luckily my girlfriend is totally supportive and is buying me my first kilt as a Christmas gift. I came very close to buying one a couple of months back, a full dress kilt, but decided that it would be more practical to wait and start off with something a bit more casual.

I look forward to being an active member on the board here and will most assuredly post some pics as soon as I am actually kilted.
