Hello to all
Hello everyone at XMarks,
So it seems I've caught the kilt bug too! It started, sort of, with a visit to Edinburgh. I got fascinated by the looms weaving the tartans and got intrigues about the construction of kilts. I am already well an truly hooked on various textile (and textile-related crafts), and kilt-construction appeared to be just another branch of the Traditional Costumes section.
Well, I fear this might be a little more serious! I have gone as far as designing a special tartan - which I'm dying to have registered and woven and to make into a kilt, but for the moment finances are slowing me down, looked up (and pretty much decided on) which accessories I'd like to wear with it (including a black velvet Argyle jakcet with satin lapels), and pretty much decided what to answer people when they ask me why I'm wearing a kilt - especially as I'm no Scottish, nor do I have any connection to Scotland (in fact, I'm a Dane living in England!): Because I can and because I like it!
Well, that must be enough rambling for now, but feel free to say hello!
Dennis
