Hello from Arizona, and occassionally Los Angeles
Hi Y'all!!!
I'm still new to wearing my kilts, though I've been able to wear them on set, and even traveling with the production staff of the amazing race. I bought a Canadian military kilt to maybe out together something a little more traditional, but turns out the sizing was off and it's too small, mehhh
But I've enjoyed reading the forums here awhile and thought I should say hello and let y'all know I'll be asking some questions about what and how to wear the kilt...not just the Utilikilts
Gonna need to find a suitable tartan and weight for my attempt at a more traditional look. Any and all help appreciated, thanks again and hello!

Hi Sam; welcome to X Marks from Delaware. That's great that you can wear a kilt while working (traveling) on your (I'm sure amazing) job.
You've certainly got the measure of this site and know that all you need to do is ask. As you know, there are many different directions you could go regarding a tartan but, I would suggest starting with your ancestral connections or perhaps the town, area or district your ancestors may have come from.
I'm glad you decided to get involved with XMTS and look forward to your participation.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. Welcome Sam from Southampton UK. As Nile says above ask away, no question is too dumb, we have all probably asked them in our own learning.
