Hello from Austria
My name is Andreas, I'm 44 years old and I'm living in Hard (near Bregenz/Lake Constance) in the three country corner Austria-Germany-Switzerland.
I'm new into kilt wearing and also kilt making. I bought the book The Art of Kiltmaking two month ago and "built" my first kilt about 1 week ago.
As I'm totally new into sewing and such things, I bought a very cheap, no wool fabric for this practice kilt and I'm very proud of the result
So I already ordered a real nice 16oz wool fabric and started a second kilt. Very big difference to the cheap fabric
So hopefully I'm finding some good advice, tips & tricks from all the content here in this forum!

Welcome from the English midlands. I have never attempted to make a kilt, and am much impressed by those who do! Hope we will see some pictures.

There are many colors in that tartan that will let you combine lots of accessories to make different ensembles. Good job and I hope it inspires you for many more.

Grüß Gott, Andreas. Welcome to the great rabble (as we refer to ourselves). As your skills improve, your confidence will increase. So enjoy the learning process.
A great many years ago I studied in the city of Salzburg, and it was there that I first wore a kilt (which I had ordered during my Christmas holiday in Scotland). It arrived when the first flowers of spring began to bloom, and I still have it.
