Hello from Brazil!
Hi everybody! Heather Swan here.
I found X Marks while bouncing around Google looking for information on the Clan Swan. There was a thread on here from another Swan looking for his roots. My grandfather Swan was adopted and so genetically I have absolutely no Scottish blood, but it is a nice way to pass the time on watch in the middle of the South Atlantic!
After coming back to this sight for a couple days, I decided to join.
I spent a couple weeks in Scotland last February and had a blast! Can't wait to go back. Was able to pick up some tartan skirts in Inverness and am hooked! Its starting to cool down in Georgia, so its almost time to sport them again.
I will miss the Highland Festival in Stone Mountain, GA this year (Super Bummed) but I can't wait to see everyone's pictures!
I wish to have no connection with any ship that does not sail fast; for I intend to go in harms way. - John Paul Jones

Hi, Heather, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
You mention being on watch in the Atlantic, so I presume you are either in the merchant marine or a yachtswoman. Either way, it’s a most interesting way of life.
Enjoy your tartan skirts. You probably don’t have good reason to wear them aboard, but they are great on land.
Regards,
Mike
