Hello all. Long time reader, brand new poster here. To be honest I'm probably more nervous about posting here than I am about wearing my first kilt- but excited at the same time!
Proud to be from BC-- it seems many of you are from too. We may have passed by each other with me enviously eyeing your kilt. Sorry for the sideways glances. I'm much more looking forward to the 'knowing nods' we'll be able to share sometime soon.
I have absolutely no Scots blood in me, but I married into a very proud Scottish highland family. Wanting to belong as well as show support for my kids' heritage I have wanted to wear a kilt from time to time at highland games, family dinners or other important events (weddings, funerals etc). The tie I have in the family tartan just isn't cutting it anymore.
I have been saving up for a while now and will likely be having a traditional kilt made. I am looking forward to having something that I can pass down and be part of the family story. I think that's as exciting as looking fantastic will be. I'll have lots of questions you everyone but I'll be sure to ask them in the right forums.
Until then, I'll keep reading and lurking at all the great suggestions, photos and opinions.
