Hello from California
Greetings fellow enthusiasts!
I joined the forum some months ago, but am finally getting around to making my first post, as I've just placed my first order for a kilt (from USA Kilts).
I already own nine yards of double-wide tartan fabric which I picked up at a renaissance faire some years ago, but as many of you know, the effort to don a Great Kilt kind of precludes it from regular daily wear (especially now that my house is small enough that there's no single room in which I could lay it out for proper pleating).
I'm excited about my new purchase, since now I'll have a kilt suitable for daily wear (I work in IT, and have enough leeway and tenure at my office to get away with it).
I am pleased to make your acquaintance, and look forward to getting to know my new community better!

You can be sure I'll post pictures, as well as a gushing thank you post to Rocky in the USAK forum.
The tartan is County Tyrone; which, I noticed, was the subject of an old (now closed) thread, where folks were asking for pics of a finished example. I am eager to provide some once it arrives (6-10 weeks, in theory; but I keep hearing how Rocky and his team exceed expectations and often get them in the mail considerably faster).
