Hello from Charlotte Region
Greetings:
I am a female very much into her Scottish heritage located in the Charlotte, NC region. I am also very much interested since we have a large Scottish community here but no regular planned gatherings other than the regional Highland Games, planning regular kilt nights for the area.

Well met lass. Keep posting to start a "kilt night" or look to St. Andrew and Burn's Night gatherings in your area. Welcome from a N. C. son.

Hello from another fellow Charlottean Clan MacAlister at your service.
Not to spam or self promote, but you are right in that a lot of the Celtic events in Charlotte seem to revolve mostly around the Games (Loch Norman, Grandfather Mtn, Scotland County, and the recently defunct Triad Games in Greensboro). Mint Hill used to host their own games, but being a small and quaint Southern town, they could not sustain it.
All that aside, Mint Hill does host its own Scottish shop (Near and Far Scottish) at the intersection of 51 (Matthews-Mint Hill Road) and Lawyers Road, just across the street from the Hill and next to the Barber Shop. The owners, Helen and Dave, are good friends of mine. Helen is also the President for the Charlotte Chapter of the New World Celts. I can PM you with more information so as not to bloat this thread, but welcome!
