Hello From Colorado
I am new to the kilt community and just recently finished putting together my kilt and kit. Claiming decent from the Forrester's (Great Grandfather was a Scots-Irish Foster) and not finding any readily available Forrester kilts, I decided to go with a Douglas tartan kilt. Figuring to go whole hog, I contacted the Clan Douglas Society (very nice folks) signed up and being a Coloradan went to their AGM that was being held in Estes Park at the Highland games.
I have been reading forum posts which have been very helpful and thought I'd actually post a hello and a few pictures. Can't say enough how much fun I had at the dinner meeting new folks as well as the games ..... and of course wearing the kilt for the first time. Just a great weekend!
Henry
Getting all geared up at home to make sure it all fit ... but forgot the sporran....

At the AGM with the Mrs. ..... this time forgot to pack the tie ...

The next day at at the Highland Games ... the little lass is my daughter who is an Irish Step Dancer ... she scored some hardware at the competition and moved up (for those in the know, she can now wear her solo dress in the soft shoe dances .... hence the 500 watt smile!)

Welcome, Henry!
So you claim this to be your first outing in a kilt? Very well turned out!
Congratulations to your lovely daughter, also!
