Hello from Denver, CO
Hello fellow kilt lovers! I have been reading through threads here for a little while now and decided to join in! Let's see...
Well...I traveled to the UK last summer and spent quite a bit of time in Scotland (I will hopefully share all of the kilt pics from my trip soon), and absolutely fell in love with the country and the culture....especially pipes & drums and kilts! In fact, I loved it so much, that I am going back again in just a few weeks...and I am extrememly excited. I am in the process of having a kilt made to measure for me that I will pick up while I am there...(I am a young female...but I do not like the look of long "hostess" type skirts or even the calf length ones...and I think a mini kilt would not be so good for my *very* white legs...plus I'm not really the "girly girl" type.) Anyway...since I will own a kilt soon...and since I adore anything (ex. my avatar) or anyone dressed in a kilt...I thought it might be fun to jump into this forum!
More about me.....I am an athletic sort of girl....used to play ice hockey, but had to quit in order to continue doing Taekwondo (which I have done since I was 5), and I am now a third degree blackbelt as well as an instructor. I love arts of all kinds, which is probably part of the reason that I enjoy kilts so much, as there is so much creativity and beauty in them. I listen to pipes & drums almost every day...and although I do not play any musical instrument, I would love to learn how to play the pipes (or the drums!) and join a pipe band one day.
