Hello from East Kilbride, Scotland
Hi everyone and be gentle with me as this is my first time on any kind of interactive web forum.
I am a male, approaching 60 born in Glasgow, Scotland and currently reside in East Kilbride (just a few miles outside of Glasgow).
I decided to join X Marks the Scot after having enjoyed the forum input for months now as an anon.
I had the occasion a year or so ago to wear the kilt for the very first time in my life at a relatives wedding as a requirement of groom and couldn't disappoint him. I never imagined the pride I subsequently experienced that day whilst in my regalia.
This led me to consider my heritage more closely and being of the Clan Donald (my variation of the surname being McDonald) I decided to look a lot more closely at my clan history and have now decided to try and trace my family tree to establish which particular clan division I am from.
I am now well and truly hooked on wearing the kilt and own 3 of my own so far (all variations of the clan tartan) and wear them at every opportunity I can such as weddings, christenings and any recognised 'Scottish' event that I can attend. (You will appreciate that although I live in Scotland, the kilt is not your normal everyday wear).
Whilst doing my homework regarding the kilt, I came across this website and found it had everything and more that I could ever want to know about wearing the kilt. I have had hours of enjoyment reading various forums and congratulate you all for such an entertaining and informative news board.
I wish you all the best.
