from the Scottish Borders.
We seem to have a few things in common besides the kilt. I was born in Paisley, had a grandfather from County Armagh in Northern Ireland, lived in Troon for a few years (the next town down the coast from Irvine) and I am married to a lovely German lady from Nuernberg.
There are a few kilt wearers in Germany and a couple of annual Scottish themed gatherings in Germany.
I have met two of our German members, both of whom live quite near Frankfurt. There is Piipriker who lives in Idstein and Pipersson who lives in Darmstadt. Unfortunately neither are very active on this forum so there is a likelihood they may not have seen your posts but if you wanted to contact them you could try sending them Personal Messages using the PM service on this forum.
Regional Director for Scotland for Clan Cunningham International, and a Scottish Armiger.

Welcome from a Scotsman living in middle England. One branch of my family came from Ayrshire - they were Reids, and came from places like Fenwick, Galston, and Crookedholme [now part of Kilmarnock].
