Hello fron Northern California.
I would like to say hello from Redding California. I wore my first kilt this past St. Paddy's day 2014 and I never knew how comfortable they would be. My wife made it. Since then her and I have talked about kilts and I am going to start wearing them full time. I will be buying my first full set within the next week or so. I am not sure which style I will be heading for but the first one will be for formal occasions. Enough of that am More about my life. I was in the Marines from 1986-1990. I suffer from PTSD. I spent seventeen years locked inside my house, never leaving until my wife helped me get the counseling I needed to be free again. My hobbies include shaving with my USN issue 1942 double edge razor and brush set. I also enjoy flashlights. I live for fishing. I use fountain pens and I journal as much as possible. I work part time at Wendy's and full time caring for my elderly father. I have three kids and two grandkids. I have a dog named Chewy. My wife's name is Candy (not Candace). I have tarantulas as well. I love snakes but don't have any since we moved to California. I do have the tarantulas though. I have a few cool knives and I love to spend as much time outdoors as I can. I love to watch the news. I love reading Ernest Hemingway. I like muzzleloader rifles and archery of any kind. That's about all for now.

Welcome! There are quite a few of us Jarheads in this forum. BTW, we have 2 tartans associated with the Corps, the Leatherneck, widely available; and the Dress Blue, designed by our host Steve Ashton, a fellow Marine and owner of Freedom Kilts.

Hi and welcome from a very wet Queensland!
Congratulations on rediscovering your freedom with the help of your "Better Half", I guess you have a lot of outdoors to catch up on. Your kilts (there won't just be one!) will be an extension of that journey. Good luck!
Regards, Sav.
