Hello from the Granite State
Yes, I'm new to this forum. I'm also new to kiltmaking.
I'm an apprentice to a local kiltmaker. Fascinating guy. Currently I have two on my cutting table. One for me, one for my first customer. The one for me is the Waterford tartan (House of Edgar, Irish District). No familial connection, just love the tartan. The one for the customer is a Campbell tartan (or not, depending on what you read), "the 42nd".
I'm making them using a combo of my teachers method and of Course Barb's method. Loving it so far. If anyone is interested I can get a few tartans at really good prices (@ $40 per yd + shipping). I'll have an inventory next Friday.
Oh yeah, I found a great tweed jacket to modify!
