Hello to the group!
I've been reading XMarksTheScot for a couple months, and decided to join after one of Barbara Tewksbury's posts explained how to shorten a kilt waist.
I had picked up a large, made-in-Scotland kilt really cheaply, but gave up on actually being able to wear it.
But I followed Barbara's advice, and the kilt turned out great!
I really want to thank Barbara for sharing her knowledge (btw I just bought her "Kiltmaking" book) and thank XMarksTheScot for hosting such dedicated kilt fans.
I got into kilts through my interest in bagpiping about 25 years ago, and now kilts fit nicely into my Celtic Trad music, and my family history.
This is the only forum I've ever joined, but I thought, "You know, this looks like an enthusiastic, good group of people."
Thanks again to everyone!

Welcome from Michigan!
Sounds like you've got a good attitude about "well, if it isn't what I want, I'll learn how to *make* it what I want!"
Oh, and Colorado's a beautiful state. Haven't been there in years, but one of my favorite places to visit.
