Hello from KC!
Hello everyone! My first kilt will hopefully be here in a few weeks! Right in time for my 40th birthday! Came here looking for help BEFORE I wear it, so I don't do something wrong and look like a fool in public!

Well met Dunlop. There are ways to personalize your kilt and ensemble and it not be "wrong". Look to your personal tastes in traditional verses contemporary attire and think of the opportunities you will be wearing your kilt, (ie. formal events, Ren. Faires, Highland Games, motorcycle rallies, or even shooting ranges or weddings).
Take your time and consider yourself as viewed by the public. Remember you live in the "Show Me" State.

Thanks everyone!
My wife and I have weird jobs and often work on cruise ships. Most of the cruises we work have two formal nights each week. I thought the kilt would be perfect to wear on formal nights. We are now starting to work a lot more of these, and am probably going to be buying a few more soon.
Now looking through the forum, I now have a better idea of where to buy from.
