Hello from Louisiana
Hello everyone,
I just recently found this site while researching my ancestry. My aunt and uncle were in Tennessee during the last games, and decided to go have a look around. To her surprise she found Clan Davidson representatives, and has been obsessed ever since.
I've always been told that I had Scottish ancestry on my fathers side, but Davidson is my mothers side, which sparked my search, and I ran into one of the many the "which side do you get clan association from" threads. As far as my fathers side, I'm having some issues tracking down the lineage that's supposed to be there. Unfortunately my father, who at one time was all about genealogy tracing, focused more on his mothers side of the family DeLatte. So it is up to me to find out if the rumors are true, and to figure out which clan my family belongs to. Especially since it's fairly obvious which family my mothers side belongs to.
And, I'm rambling.
But, long story short, I'm here to learn more about the Scottish culture, and see if this is a place I should direct my Aunt towards.

Welcome from Alabama, a shẹid!
As someone who is on that journey myself, I try to always remember...
Kilts are easy, culture and identity are not. Appreciating without appropriating is difficult and requires patience, research. This site is, by far, the best resource for how this striking garment of Highland Dress has come down to us - expect candid and honest feedback and you will no doubt come to appreciate it more that you thought you would!
