    Hello from the Midwest

    Hello from Midwest
I was given two Kilt outfits, a Prince Charlie coat & vest, Green Tweed jacket & vest, MacRae Hunting Ancient kilt, MacRae Red kilt, ( kilt tartans according to Linda Cliffords site http://www.lindaclifford.com/MacRae.html ) I also received all of the accessories, hose, belts, sporrans, sgian dubh, shirts balmoral, all but his shoes. I already had a Royal Stewart, just the cheap one, but the problem is, the Royal Stewart is a 23 1/2 inch drop which, is right for me. The MacRae kilts are 25 1/4 inch drop, so they hang below my knee, I have pulled the kilt up under the Prince Charlie what should I do? I have been told it is hard to alter the drop of the kilt. I just do not want to offend anyone when I wear my kilts.

    from the outskirts of Chicago!

I don't have answer for you regarding the drop of your kilt, but I am sure one of our kiltmakers will chime in soon with some solid advice for you.

At any rate, you have come to the right place! Welcome!

    Hello f150k,

Welcome to XMarks from the other side of the Atlantic in Norfolk, England.

There is no real problem in hemming a kilt; two of mine are hemmed; many boys' kilts are sold from new with hems to allow for growth.

    Regards

    Chas
