Hello from the mountains of NC
Greetings! I'm another long-term lurker (primarily around Burns Nicht time) who just joined for one specific question, but I anticipate I'm opening a Pandora's box of my own interest! Anyway, I'm currently in the mountains of NC (and amazed there's not a Scottish society here), a member of Clan MacGregor. My fiance has much closer roots to Scotland, with his grandfather being an immigrant, so my interest in my Scottish roots has blossomed in the last few years. Anyway, hoping to learn lots more here--and maybe even figure out getting him a kilt for our wedding...

Welcome aboard from I-40, exit 85. There's a Scottish Society in Montreat, and I think there's one in Franklin.
