Post Hello, a New Hampshire, USA newbie.

Just want to say how happy I am that I have found this site. I do not currently own any Kilts but I am extremely interested in clan tartan patterns, clan kilt patterns, period historical dress and Scot History. I actually landed here while searching a pattern which I believed is an ancient kilt pattern. I believe I have found it (Stewart muted dress blue), although more investigation will be done. I look forward to learning more about the patterns of Tartans and the history of the Kilt and enjoying the forums! Any tips on how to learn more about Tartans and Kilt history will be greatly appreciated! Thanks. p.s. does this post count towards my first 10?

Hello and welcome from Southern California. I will leave the majority of your questions for those members with far more expertise than my own. However, I do know that your introduction post does indeed count toward your 10.

    Welcome!

Searching the old threads here can be a gold mine of information.

Another good source for information is this member's site: http://www.albanach.org/articles.html#

And I'm sure you're aware of the NH Highland games next month: http://www.nhscot.org/

One of many fine NH kiltmakers -- I know of this one because she makes the kilts that the Lincoln, NH police department wears at the Games: http://kiltmakernh.com/
