Hello from New Mexico
Found and ordered an older kilt off e-bay yesterday - have wanted one for years. Looks like a good quality kilt that will fit me, and if not, it wasn't a lot of money, and I can try again. I want it for hiking.
My husband owns two. One from the 50's he bought off ebay and another he ordered from USA kilts.
Textiles have fascinated me since I was a little kid. I am a quilter, knitter, spinner, own an inkle loom, and enjoy hand sewing historically inspired clothing.
Am a casual follower of a few of the YT channels out there - Fandaby Dosi (spell??), USA Kilts, and a Canadian guy who does repairs.
Looking forward to participating here!

Thanks, everyone!
Been perusing old posts, and absorbing content. If I don't post much, I'm still here... reading. So much information I have't found elsewhere.
Surprisingly, I am most intrigued by the hose, and will be making notes on specifics on those posts. I've knitted some socks in the past. Would like to purchase a good pair of hose ready made to have in-hand; feel, density, yarn texture, fit, and durability - qualities that don't always come across well in pics. I only knit in 100% wool, and no Superwash. Since I will be both the knitter and wearer (although my husband will want some too), I can darn them when the heels wear thin.
I "should" finish my gansey first, but as soon as I am confident on the best yarn to buy, that will probably happen...done gansey, or not.
