Hello from Newfoundland , Canada
My name is James McKeown and am new to this very interesting site. .
My mother is first generation Canadian as my grandparents were from Edinburgh and Inverness.
My grandfather was with the Blackwatch as a piper and my great great uncle was with the Seaforth Highlanders but was killed at the Battle of the Somme at the age of 24.
I wear the Seaforth kilt pin in his honour. I also wear the MacAuely tartan as my grandmother was a MacAuley and my grandfather was a Bennett. I don't know how much I will post as I came here to learn about many things surrounding the Highland dress.

from Scotland.
My maternal grandfather's family (widowed mother, four brothers and sister) all emigrated to Canada in the early 1900s and he was the lone one who refused to go. So all my mother's cousins were born in Canada and I have lots of Canadian second cousins. None in Newfoundland as far as I am aware, mostly now concentrated in Saskathchewan, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.
Regional Director for Scotland for Clan Cunningham International, and a Scottish Armiger.
