Hello from North Carolina
Hello, my name is Chris and I live in NC. I have owned and worn kilts for a few years now. I realize that there are many that would not approve of the way I wear my more casual kilts, but I am interested in learning more about "proper" kilt wear. I usually wear utility style kilts the same way I wear jeans or shorts. I keep finding my self back on this site reading posts and decided to join today. Also today is the first time I wore a kilt to work. I did bring a backup kilt because it took me about 20 minutes to pleat this one this morning and if I have to take it off there is no way I would be able to put it back on at work. Today I wanted to dress up a little so I went with a green button up shirt and a green cardigan sweater along with the nicest dress shoes I own. I normally wear jeans and t-shirt/hoody to work, so this is very dressed up for me. My backup kilt is a black utility style. So far the response has been good, I hope to make this a regular occurrence. My wife and I have enjoyed the few Highland Games we have attended and we want to introduce our 3 yr old son to these events. (we found diapers to be challenging at outdoor festivals so we stayed away for a bit, our choice please don't judge.). He seems to be ok with wearing a kilt, we got him a nice Black Watch a few weeks ago. This has gotten long so I will leave it at this, I am here to learn and grow for myself and my family.

Hello Chris from central NC. I have both utility and tartan kilts. Depends on the activity as to which one I choose. Welcome and feel free to read a lot. Many great ideas and suggestions to found here. Game season is about to pick up here in NC. If you are out to one, be sure to stop by the Clan Hay tent and say howdy.

Thanks and I am attempting to plan which games we will be attending around my wife's strange running obsession, her goal is 1 race a month this year. I know that there is at least 1 or 2 events it will be just my son and I. I will make sure to keep an eye out for your tent and say hello.
