Hello from North Carolina, USA!
Hello fellow kilt enthusiasts! I did a DNA test in 2020 and found out I was 46% Scot (something I didn't expect, and my largest DNA ancestry) so decided to try out a kilt. I purchased by first kilt, a utility-style, a couple weeks ago and I am hooked. I am planning on getting a Utilikilt sometime in the next 6-8 months and, hopefully, getting a full formal attire whenever the world opens back up and we can go to Scotland.

Welcome MorningGoat. I also am a new kilt enthusiast in North Carolina. I just went to my first Highland Games ever, at Grandfather Mountain near Boone, wearing a great kilt and swords. I saw nothing but smiles from everyone involved there for 4 days.
It was a fantastic time. Great music, and great events, great food, and great competitions. Even the cops were wearing kilts, with plenty of warriors drinking wee drams of whiskey. I think there were about 10,000 people there, though I've read it hits up to 40,000 without COVID.
If you get the chance, it's highly recommended. Family friendly.

Welcome from a fellow Scotsman now living in the English midlands. Just returned from a week in Scotland. Hope you manage to visit there before too long.

I wasn't aware of that one. Thank you! I will try to make it.
Any info on parking/bussing from the hotels/motels? I'm having trouble finding info. Even Google Maps doesn't want to map it out the route, weird.
Booze allowed? I see the whiskey tasting on Oct 1st is already sold out.
