Hello (Not that I Ever Left) From Long Island!

So..... it's been a while now, so I might as well just come out and admit it - I moved from Chicago to Long Island. I am going to miss the Chicago crew a lot. I am also going to need to find out if there is a Long Island of Manhattan crew around here, and I figure this might be the best way to do so.

So.... now its your turn. Any Islanders in here???

Hi, WalesLax, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
Which end of Long Island are you from? I have read that the Dutch settled the far western shore of the island (Flushing, chiefly) but did not venture along the north or south coasts. It was the English who settled there.
Chicago is, of course, a good long way from NY. But it’s a lot closer than where I live.
