Hello from Nova Scotia, Canada
New to the forum and just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Devin and I currently reside in Nova Scotia, Canada - although I grew up on the banks of the Miramichi River in the province of New Brunswick. I donned my first kilt at the age of six, lovingly crafted by my maternal grandmother. I have been sporting this most ubiquitous of garments (when opportunity presents) ever since. I recently decided to craft a kilt for my son, aged 3, to continue the family tradition. So enjoyable was the experience I decided to do some more serious research and stumbled across this forum of learned fellow kilt enthusiasts. I'm also, of course, eagerly awaiting Ms Barb Tewksbury's book to arrive. Looking forward to sharing what I can, learning what I may, and perhaps make a few acquaintances along the way. Slàinte!

Well met Devin. I hope in the years to come, your son may find the kilt a garment to admire and don every chance offered. Please post photos of your task when you can. Glad to have you with us.

Welcome from a Scotsman living in middle England. There seems to be a great tradition of kilt making/wearing in your family! Long may it continue.

Devin. Welcome, from a displaced Caper in AB.
I also had the privilege of growing up in an area heavily influenced by Scottish diaspora, although started donning the kilt relatively recently. We had this Acadian influence as well, you see....
