    Hello from NW Florida

    Hello everyone.

I bought the kilt while I was in England. I wore the Black Watch kilt while I was in Edinburgh, and also for the Scotland in Colchester festival.

Most of the Scots were pretty receptive towards me while wearing it. (Probably about 95%). It is a conversation starter.

It is a double edged sword. But, there's far more good than bad that comes from wearing it.

Eventually, I'd like to find out the origins of my family name. Right now, I think it maybe Hannay or McInnes, but I'm not sure. I may never know the answer.

Well met new member. I like the turnout in your photo. One thing I can offer is, the 5% adverse reaction to you being kilted can be won over with a disarming smile and patience (50% of the time). Welcome to this side of the positive kilted people.

That's great advice. I'll remember and apply that.
