    Hello from Oklahoma

Hi... I am new to the forum. Ancestry.com DNA says I am 43% Scottish. I have done quite a bit of genealogical research and I have a little Scots on both sides but my 2 great grandfather on my mothers side was an orphan on the orphan train out of NY area and census show him born there. He was adopted by the Murphy family but I don't know his birth sir name and most of my Scots ancestry had to come from this line to be that high. So I am interested in Scottish culture and plan a visit next summer.

Welcome from a bit south on I-35.
There are two Murphy families in Ireland, the eastern Ireland Murphy's are part of Clan McDonald so there could Scots from there. (The south Ireland Murphys are not related- my wife is one of that group, so had to marry me to be called a Scot)

Welcome from a Scotsman living in the English Midlands. Sounds like an interesting family history.

Be aware that Ancestry.com updates their estimates very year or so.

Around the time of the Covid shutdown a couple of their annual updates increased many people's "Scottish" and decreased their "Irish".

For example my "Irish" continued to drop annually from 35% when I first got the test down to 7% in their most recent update.

My "Scottish", which originally was included in a general "Britain and Northwestern Europe" category, got listed separately at one point and has continued to increase, I think it's currently 58%.

Tons of people newly taking the test have mentioned their surprisingly large "Scottish" component. I advise them to pump the brakes a bit, because it might fall in a future update.
