Hello from the Rocky Mountains!
Hello, everyone! I'm so glad I came across this forum. It's fantastic! I live in the foothills of the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains in Utah. In my teens I competed and performed a lot as a Highland Dancer in Highland Games throughout the Western United States. In my twenties I outgrew the kilt that I performed in so I've been without a kilt for years and this forum has been incredibly helpful as I plan for my next kilt. Although I haven't had a proper fitting kilt for a such a long time, I've continued wearing tartan and tams on a regular basis. Sadly I also outgrew my balmoral hat from my dancing days but I'll be getting a new one with my next kilt. I've thoroughly enjoyed the posts that I've read and the photos that I've seen. I just want to say thank you to everyone who has shared so much invaluable information. It's been so helpful! My great-grandmother was a Mackintosh so if there are any other Mackintoshes on here, I just to have to shout, "Loch Moy!" and I also want to give a shout out to everyone on here who are part of Clan Chattan. Touch Not The Cat Bot A Glove!

Well met Willie. Are you thinking of getting a kilt for daily use, for dance only or one that can perform in both settings? Regardless the answer, glad to have you join us.
