Been a lurker here for a wee while and am glad to see such a varied contribution and variety of opinions on the kilt.
My name is Chris and am from Aberdeenshire. my hobbies include amatuer blacksmithing and leatherwork. Hope I am able to contribute to a forum that has so many estabilished and learned members.
Good stuff,

Re: hello from Scotland
I echo the words of Welcome, this time from the Rocky Mountains of the US of A. Amazing how many kilted fellers have such an overlap in hobbies. I, too, do a little blacksmithing and lots of leatherwork. I'm actually a retired Shop Teacher.
Again, Welcome. Looking forward to seeing your work and where you live.
